Zines
- $5 each
The Impossible Vegan: Classic Vegan Baked Goods by Kristen Reyes
This is the dessert zine that has perfected the classics as well as a few decadent favorites vegan-style! Perfected cheesecake, Dirt Cake!, and delicious tiramisu. Kristen is a friend of Vegan Actions from Richmond that really makes the best vegan chocolate chip cookies we've ever had. She has moved on to NYC to bake up the vegan goodies but we are so glad she left us this zine.

Raggedy Anarchy's guide to Vegan Baking and the Universe
This zine is at least twelve years old right out of California. It is still photocopied and distributed regularly by loyal fans. "Over 55 all-bad-for-you vegan recipes and personal rants on just about everything." You get the personal, the political, and great vegan recipes for cakes, frostings, pies & cobblers, cookies, and great breakfast treats like delicious coffee cake and (my favorite) scones.

Spoonfight: Vegan Manual to Kitchen Terrorism
This zine has a couple dozen delicious recipes that don't require a lot of ingredients or a lot of work. Directions for making your own seitan (wheat gluten) and some great staples. One of our favorites, the Mr. Selby's Revolution Sauce - nutritional yeast will revolutionize your vegan cooking!

Well Fed - Not an Animal Dead! by Graham Burnett
One of the two amazing old-skool vegan cookzines from England of the 1980s. All of the old punk vegans have this and Soy Not Oi! in their kitchens. Not only does this zine give us the basics of why we're eating vegan but how to make the best, healthiest vegan food without spending a lot of money doing it. Recipes for roasts, soups, salads, veggie pies, burgers, curries, pasta dishes, spreads, a few desserts, info on making your own beer and wine, and basic food gardening tips. "Eat Wheat - Not Meat!"

Soy, Not Oi! - Over 100 Recipes Designed to Destroy the Government by the Hippycore Krew
One of the two amazing old-skool vegan cookzines from England of the 1980s. All of the old punk vegans have this in their kitchens. This zine is the initial peace-punk DIY vegan cookzine and includes awesome recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts, snacks, and punk popcorn. Also, directions for making your own soy milk, bread, shampoo, and homebrew all with suggested songs to listen to while cooking. "Build Biscuits Not Bombs!"
