CERTIFICATION Vegan
Action administers the Certified Vegan
Logo, an easy-to-recognize symbol applied
to foods, clothing, cosmetics and other
items that contain no animal products and
are not tested on animals.
The
logo helps vegans to shop without constantly
consulting ingredient lists; it helps companies
recognize a growing vegan market; and it
helps bring the word "vegan" --and
the lifestyle it represents-- into the mainstream.
(Please keep in mind, however, that the
logo is not yet on every vegan product.)
What is the Certified
Vegan Logo?
The Logo is a registered trademark, similar
in nature to the "kosher" mark,
for products that do not contain animal
products and that have not been tested on
animals. The Logo is easily visible to consumers
interested in vegan products. This is the
only 'third-party' vegan certification mark
in use in the United States.
The Logo is administered by The Vegan
Awareness Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit
organization dedicated to educating the
public about veganism and to assist vegan-friendly
businesses.

How
do I qualify for the Logo?
You can apply to use the Logo on any vegan
product. Your company need not produce solely
vegan products to qualify. Click

Here are the steps towards gaining use of
the Certified Vegan Logo for your product
(or products):

Submit
to us a list of the products' ingredients
and statements of animal product free
status for those ingredients which may
or may not be vegan (i.e. refined sugar,
lecithin, diglycerides, etc). |
| 2. |
We
will confirm that the ingredients are
vegan and not presently tested on animals,
and give permission to use the Logo
on those products. |
| 3. |
We
can supply you with an electronic graphics
file with the Logo to place on your
products' packaging. |
What
does it cost?
There is an annual fee of $120 to cover
the expenses in administering the use of
the Logo.
